Product Description
Mediabridge Toslink Cables
The Toslink optical audio connection carries a digital audio stream using a fiber-optic cable. This Mediabridge Toslink Cable is perfect for whenever you need to connect audio devices, such as a CD or DVD players to a receiver or preamplifier.

In home-theater applications, you can use the Toslink connection to send a Dolby Digital or DTS soundtrack to an audio processor or A/V receiver for surround-sound decoding.

Since Toslink uses fiber-optic cable, it is free from distortion caused by electrical or magnetic interference that an electrical cable would incur. The result is an audio signal that is purer, as well as truer to the original recording.

Quality Construction
This Mediabridge cable features a durable, PVC outer layer, and a durable buffer tubing that resists corrosion and offers optimal signal transfer.

Limited Lifetime Warranty
This Mediabridge cable is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. If you should need assistance with your Mediabridge cable, contact our customer service department between 8am and 5pm Eastern.

5 out of 5 stars Looks, smells, acts like an optical audio cable.   July 27, 2010
David M. Robbins (Sherman Oaks, CA)
This is an optical audio cable. With digital signals, either the cable works or it doesn't work, and this one certainly works. So don't go paying $50 or $100 for some Monster BS... this will satisfy everything you require.

And for those who are wondering, optical audio or HDMI are the only ways to send a surround-sound signal from one home theater device to another. Component uses RCA for audio (the Red, White, Yellow plugs) which are only stereo.

This cable is no good, end is mfg to short, wont lock into unit at either end, falls out. I suspect reviewers who like it, don't realize they could fall out any time.

4 out of 5 stars Works as advertised   July 16, 2010
Matthew J. Schroeder
These are simple cables that work. I bought three. All were the right length. All worked.

The only issue I had is that the grip area is a little thicker than most other Toslink cables I've seen, so when I initially tried to connect to my Roku HD-XR (there is an abnormally small amount of free space around the port on this box), I could not push the cable in far enough to get it to lock in place. Eventually, I tried an existing cable I had in my set-up, got that to lock and then re-tried this cable and was able to lock it into place without further issue. Apparently, there was a combined issue with the virgin port and the lack of open space around it.

Final word: The cable works, it's a good deal.

1 out of 5 stars Failure to lock into optical connector   June 25, 2010

I must be snake bit. This is the second Optical cable I've ordered from two different vendors. The first failed to arrive. This vendor got the item to me a day ahead of their delivery estimate. However, the cable would not lock into either of the optical connectors of the two pieces of equipment I was attempting to interconnect (Dish 722 satellite receiver to Yamaha audio receiver). Yes, I took off the protective covers prior to my connection attempt. I ended up going to Best Buy, 30 miles away, and bought a DYNEX cable which worked just fine, thank you.

Product was not three feet long. At least a foot shorter. Was very unhappy with this product.

Would not recommend.
